UniFi 100G PSM4 Single-Mode Optical Module

The Ubiquiti UACC-OM-QSFP28-PSM4 is a UniFi 100G PSM4 optical module in the QSFP28 form factor. It carries 100 Gbps over OS2 single-mode fibre at distances up to 2 km (1.2 mi) through an MPO-12 Type B APC connector, drawing no more than 3.5 W. Compatible with QSFP28 and QSFP+ interfaces, it is the UniFi optic to choose for single-mode 100G links up to 2 km — well beyond the 100 m reach of multi-mode 100G modules.

Why choose the UACC-OM-QSFP28-PSM4?

100 Gbps where multi-mode can't reach. Ubiquiti's multi-mode 100G SR4 module tops out at 100 m on OM4 fibre. The PSM4 lifts that ceiling to 2 km on OS2 single-mode fibre — 20 times the distance — so one 100G link can cover the long runs between racks, floors and buildings that multi-mode optics can't. Even over OS1 single-mode fibre it supports links up to 500 m.

One module, two port types. Ubiquiti lists the UACC-OM-QSFP28-PSM4 as compatible with both QSFP28 and QSFP+ interfaces, so you can standardise on a single optic across UniFi hardware with either port type.

Efficient at full speed. Maximum power consumption is 3.5 W per module, and the module is rated for ambient temperatures from 0 to 70 °C, so it slots into busy switch chassis without adding a heavy power or thermal load.

Part of the UniFi 100G optical family. Ubiquiti's SFP and fibre range spans single-mode and multi-mode modules up to 100G, plus 100G direct-attach cables for UniFi interconnects. Fibre and connector requirements

The UACC-OM-QSFP28-PSM4 does not include a fibre cable. To achieve its full 2 km rating, pair it with:

• Fibre type: OS2 single-mode fibre. OS1 single-mode fibre limits the link to 500 m.
• Connector: MPO-12 Type B APC.
• Wavelength: 1310 nm TX / 1310 nm RX.

Check your existing cabling before ordering: the PSM4 uses an MPO-12 Type B APC connector, whereas Ubiquiti's multi-mode 100G SR4 module uses MPO-12 Type B UPC.

Which UniFi 100G optical module do you need?

Choose the PSM4 when your link runs over single-mode fibre with MPO-12 APC cabling and needs up to 2 km of reach. Go with the SR4 for multi-mode runs up to 100 m, or the LR4 for duplex LC single-mode links up to 10 km.
