Collection: UniFi Mega Capacity WiFi Access Points

When thousands of phones compete for airtime, standard access points struggle. UniFi Mega Capacity access points are engineered for high-density venues like stadiums, arenas and convention centers, with each unit supporting 1,500+ concurrent clients. Choose the E7 Audience for 12-stream WiFi 7 across one 5 GHz and two 6 GHz radios, a 10 GbE uplink and a redundant GbE port, or the WiFi BaseStation XG for 12-stream WiFi 5 at a lower price point. Both suit indoor or outdoor installs, with selectable antenna patterns for precise cell sizing and centralized management in UniFi Network.

Fast, reliable WiFi for thousands, even when every seat is full

Why Crowds Break Ordinary WiFi

Most access points are designed around coverage: spread a signal across an office floor and let a few dozen devices share it. A sold-out stadium flips the problem. Tens of thousands of phones sit shoulder to shoulder, all streaming, posting and scanning tickets at once, and the limit is no longer how far the signal reaches but how much airtime each device gets. UniFi Mega Capacity access points deliver high-density WiFi built for exactly this, packing more radios, more spatial streams and faster uplinks into every unit, then focusing that capacity on the seats, concourses and halls where people actually are.

Every model in the collection delivers 12 spatial streams, supports 1,500+ concurrent clients and connects over a 10 GbE uplink, giving each unit the multi-gigabit backhaul that high-density traffic demands.

E7 Audience: WiFi 7 for the Densest Venues

The E7 Audience is UniFi’s answer to extreme density. It skips 2.4 GHz entirely and dedicates all 12 spatial streams to the cleaner, faster spectrum modern devices prefer: one 4x4 5 GHz radio and two 4x4 6 GHz radios (low and high band). Each 6 GHz radio reaches a maximum data rate of 11.5 Gbps on 320 MHz channels, the 5 GHz radio peaks at 8.6 Gbps on 240 MHz channels, and uplink and downlink MU-MIMO lets it serve multiple clients at once in both directions.

  • Selectable directional antennas: a focused 50° beam (15 dBi) to reach distant seating sections, or a wider 90° beam (11 dBi) for broader coverage up close.
  • PRISM RF filtering: helps reject interference from nearby radios, which matters when dozens of APs are mounted close together.
  • High availability: a 10 GbE RJ45 uplink plus a second GbE port for redundancy.
  • Built for the elements: IP68-rated, UV-stabilized housing rated from -40 to 140 °F (-40 to 60 °C), with wall and pole mounts included.
  • Smarter spectrum management: real-time spectral analysis helps pinpoint interference, and Zero-Wait DFS avoids service interruptions when moving to DFS channels.

For enclosed venues, the E7 Audience Indoor (Expanded Spectrum) version adds expanded 6 GHz indoor spectrum, opening up more channels for capacity. 6 GHz availability varies by country, and long-range 6 GHz performance with AFC is available only in FCC/IC regions (the US and Canada).

WiFi BaseStation XG: Tri-Radio 5 GHz Capacity

The WiFi BaseStation XG takes a different route to density. Three 4x4 5 GHz radios, covering the low, mid and high bands, combine for 12 spatial streams of WiFi 5, with each radio delivering up to 1.7 Gbps on 80 MHz channels. A dual-mode antenna array switches between small-cell (15 dBi) and large-cell (10 dBi) patterns, so you can tighten or widen coverage to suit each section.

  • 1/10 GbE uplink plus a GbE RJ45 port
  • IP67 weatherproofing, rated from -40 to 158 °F (-40 to 70 °C)
  • PoE++ powered, with a maximum draw of just 31 W
  • Wall and pole mounts included

It’s a smart fit for expanding an existing BaseStation XG deployment, or for high-density projects where 6 GHz client support isn’t a requirement.

Built for Stadiums, Arenas and Large Venues

These access points are made for any space where hundreds or thousands of people gather at once:

  • Stadiums, arenas and ballparks
  • Amphitheaters, festival sites and outdoor concert venues
  • Convention and exhibition centers
  • Lecture halls, auditoriums and theaters
  • Ballrooms, houses of worship and event halls

Choosing the Right Model

Choose the E7 Audience for new builds that need WiFi 7, 6 GHz client support and maximum throughput, using the standard IP68 model for outdoor or mixed installs and the Indoor version for enclosed venues. Choose the WiFi BaseStation XG when your clients are primarily on 5 GHz, power budgets are tight, or you’re adding capacity to an existing XG deployment.

Managed in UniFi Network

Both access points adopt directly into UniFi Network, so they’re configured, monitored and updated alongside your UniFi switches and gateways from one interface. Venue-ready features include 802.11k/v/r roaming support, band steering, Passpoint (Hotspot 2.0), captive portals with voucher or payment authentication, RADIUS over TLS (RadSec), dynamic RADIUS-assigned VLANs and client device isolation. Both models are also NDAA compliant, an important requirement for many government and public-sector projects.

Deployment Checklist

  • Power: PoE++ switch ports or injectors (up to 51 W for the E7 Audience, 31 W for the BaseStation XG).
  • Backhaul: 10 GbE switch ports and Cat6A cabling to each AP, so a gigabit link doesn’t throttle wireless throughput.
  • Placement: mount high and aim each unit at its target section, using narrow patterns for distant seating and wide patterns for nearby areas.
  • Planning: map your layout in the UniFi Design Center, and commission a professional RF site survey for venue-scale projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many devices can a Mega Capacity access point handle?
Each model is rated for 1,500+ concurrent clients. Real-world capacity depends on how much bandwidth each person uses, which is why large venues deploy many units, each covering its own section.

Do these access points support 2.4 GHz?
No. Both focus on 5 GHz (plus 6 GHz on the E7 Audience) to avoid the congestion of 2.4 GHz in crowded spaces. If you need to serve legacy 2.4 GHz-only devices, plan separate coverage for them.

Can they be installed outdoors?
Yes. The E7 Audience is IP68-rated and the WiFi BaseStation XG is IP67-rated, and both ship with wall and pole mounts. The E7 Audience Indoor version is designed for indoor installations.
