UniFi sensors and alarms take UniFi Protect beyond video. They add intrusion detection, smoke and carbon monoxide alerts, leak and climate monitoring, and loud on-site deterrence to the same system that runs your cameras. Every device is adopted, configured and monitored in the UniFi Protect app. A door opening at 2am, a burst pipe or vaping in the school toilets triggers an instant alert and the right response on site, without a separate alarm system or app.

Cameras, Sensors and Alarms Working as One

Because every sensor lives inside UniFi Protect, it can do far more than beep. Alarm Manager centralises your alerts and automations, so you can customise what happens when a sensor is triggered. For example, an entry sensor opening after hours can sound a siren, play a spoken warning through an AI speaker and send push and email notifications to the right people. Alarm Profiles add arm and disarm control, so alerts fire when the site is empty rather than every time staff walk past a sensor. Webhook support lets alerts flow into tools such as Slack or ServiceNow. It all runs on your own UniFi OS console, with no subscription or licence fees.

SuperLink: Long-Range Wireless Built for Security

Most sensors in this collection run on SuperLink, Ubiquiti’s proprietary wireless protocol, optimised for low latency, long range and multi-year battery life. A single SuperLink Gateway reaches sensors up to 2 kilometres away in line of sight and supports up to 96 SuperLink sensors. That makes one wireless alarm system practical across large homes, warehouses and multi-building sites. Need more coverage? Add another gateway and sensors will automatically connect to whichever has the strongest signal. You can also fit the SuperLink High-Gain Antenna to push range further outdoors.

SuperLink connections are end-to-end encrypted and authenticated, and firmware updates are delivered securely over the air. For mission-critical sites, the SuperLink Gateway HA adds LTE connectivity and a built-in backup battery, and doubles as a Thread border router.

Sirens and Audio Deterrence

• Siren and Siren PoE – all-weather 110 dB sirens with emergency LED lighting, so an alarm is both heard and seen. Choose SuperLink with battery or DC power, or PoE for a single-cable install.
• AI Speaker – a PoE speaker that adds spoken alerts and announcements to indoor spaces at up to 100 dB, with surface or flush mounting.
• AI Horn Speaker – an all-weather 120 dB PoE horn speaker that warns intruders with text-to-speech or pre-recorded messages when UniFi Protect detects activity. Mounts on walls or poles.

Do UniFi sensors and alarms need a subscription or licence?

No. They’re managed in UniFi Protect on your own UniFi OS console, with no subscription or licence fees to pay.

What do I need to get started?

You need a UniFi OS console running UniFi Protect, such as a Protect-capable Cloud Gateway, Cloud Key or UniFi NVR. SuperLink sensors also need a SuperLink Gateway. PoE devices like the Siren PoE, AI speakers and vape detection sensor connect to a PoE switch or adapter over a single Ethernet cable. The Alarm Hub Kit requires PoE++.

Can I reuse my existing wired alarm sensors?

In many cases, yes. The Alarm Hub Kit provides 32 hardwired zones, so existing door contacts and motion detectors can be brought into UniFi Protect. You can add wireless SuperLink sensors wherever new cabling isn’t practical.
