Outdoor Bullet Security Cameras for Long-Range Coverage

Bullet cameras are built to watch wide, open spaces from a distance. Their slim, directional housing points the lens exactly where it’s needed and acts as a visible deterrent. That makes them a natural fit for driveways, parking lots, fence lines, building entrances, and loading docks. UniFi bullet cameras combine that proven design with 2K and 4K video, AI-powered detection, and long-range night vision, all managed in UniFi Protect.

Which UniFi Bullet Camera Is Right for You?

  • G5 Bullet: An affordable 2K camera with smart detections and 9 m (30 ft) night vision. It’s also sold as a 3-pack for whole-property coverage.
  • G6 Bullet: 4K video from a 1/1.8-inch 8MP sensor, a Multi-TOPS AI engine with face and licence plate recognition, and 30 m (98 ft) night vision.
  • G5 Pro and AI Pro: 4K cameras with 3x optical zoom for closing in on distant gates and entrances, plus 25 m (82 ft) night vision. The AI Pro adds two-way audio along with face and licence plate recognition.
  • G6 Pro Bullet: A large 1/1.2-inch sensor for outstanding low-light detail, 2.36x optical zoom, two-way audio, and 40 m (131 ft) night vision.
  • G6 Edge Bullet: The same 1/1.2-inch sensor and 2.36x optical zoom. It adds standalone recording to microSD (NVR optional), built-in AI-powered search, and 60 m (196 ft) night vision.
  • AI LPR: A dedicated licence plate recognition camera with 3x optical zoom, tuned to read plates on vehicles moving at up to 90 km/h (56 mph).
  • AI DSLR: The flagship for image quality, pairing a 4/3-inch 10MP sensor with an f/1.2 prime lens in wide-angle or long-distance versions. Mount it indoors, or outdoors in its weatherproof case.

AI Detection That Filters Out the Noise

Basic motion detection flags every swaying branch and passing headlight. UniFi bullet cameras use AI to recognise people, vehicles, and animals, so alerts focus on real activity. You can also jump straight to the moments that matter in recorded footage. Models with face and licence plate recognition go further, helping you identify who arrived and keep a log of which vehicles came and went. Because the AI LPR is tuned to capture only plates after dark, pair it with a second camera to record full vehicle details at night.

Night Vision for Every Distance

IR night vision ranges from 9 m (30 ft) on the G5 Bullet to 60 m (196 ft) on the G6 Edge Bullet. Larger sensors on the G6 Pro Bullet and G6 Edge Bullet gather more light for cleaner footage in dim conditions. The AI DSLR’s 4/3-inch sensor and f/1.2 lens deliver standout low-light performance. An optional Vision Enhancer extends IR range and adds floodlight illumination on compatible models.

Single-Cable PoE Installation

Every UniFi bullet camera runs on Power over Ethernet, so one cable carries both power and data, with no outlet needed at the mounting point. Weather-resistant housings rated up to IP66 stand up to rain and dust. Most models include wall, ceiling, and pole mounts. Optional junction boxes and angled bases keep cabling tidy and solve awkward angles. Select models come in black or white to suit your building.

Local Recording With No Monthly Fees

UniFi bullet cameras record to a UniFi Cloud Gateway or NVR running UniFi Protect. Footage stays on hardware you own instead of a third-party cloud, and no subscription is required. Manage every camera from one interface, check live and recorded video from your phone or browser, and add cameras as your site grows. NDAA-compliant models are also available for organisations with strict procurement requirements.
