Ceiling-Mounted UniFi Access Points for Business and Home

Flagship access points are the ceiling-mounted heart of a UniFi WiFi network. They are built for everything from small offices and classrooms to hotels, retail floors and multi-story homes. This collection pairs Ubiquiti’s latest WiFi 7 models with proven WiFi 6E, WiFi 6 and WiFi 5 options. That lets you match speed, capacity and budget to every room and manage it all from one application.

Why Upgrade to UniFi WiFi 7

WiFi 7 is designed for spaces where dozens or hundreds of devices compete for airtime. The U7 Pro, U7 Pro Max, U7 Pro XG and U7 Pro XGS add the 6 GHz band and ultra-wide 320 MHz channels, opening up clean spectrum for the newest phones and laptops (6 GHz availability varies by country). Multi-Link Operation (MLO) lets compatible devices stay connected on multiple bands at once for lower latency and steadier performance. Every model still supports the WiFi devices you already own.

Multi-Gig Uplinks and Smarter Radios

WiFi 7 speeds need a wired connection that can keep up. Every WiFi 7 model in the collection supports at least a 2.5 GbE uplink. The U7 Pro XG and U7 Pro XGS step up to 10 GbE, with 5, 2.5 and 1 GbE fallback for existing switches. For crowded or noisy environments, the U7 Pro Max and U7 Pro XGS add dedicated, real-time spectral scanning. It monitors the airwaves for interference and informs smarter channel selection.

Find the Right Flagship Access Point

  • U7 Pro XGS: The most capable WiFi 7 model in the range, with 8 spatial streams, a 10 GbE uplink, dedicated spectral scanning and support for 500+ devices across up to 1,750 ft² (160 m²).
  • U7 Pro Max: 8-stream WiFi 7 with spectral scanning and 500+ client capacity on a 2.5 GbE uplink. Ideal for high-density spaces.
  • U7 Pro XG: 6-stream, tri-band WiFi 7 with a 10 GbE uplink. Like the XGS, it features a slimmer next-generation design in black or white.
  • U7 Pro: The versatile all-rounder, with 6 spatial streams, tri-band WiFi 7, a 2.5 GbE uplink and coverage up to 1,500 ft² (140 m²).
  • U7 Long-Range: Dual-band WiFi 7 with 5 spatial streams and extended reach, covering up to 1,750 ft² (160 m²). Great for open floor plans and large rooms.
  • U7 Lite: A compact, affordable route to WiFi 7, with 4 spatial streams and a 2.5 GbE uplink. Well suited to small offices, apartments and homes.
  • U6 Enterprise: WiFi 6E with 10 spatial streams, 6 GHz support and the collection’s highest capacity at 600+ clients.
  • U6 Pro, U6+ and AC Pro: Proven WiFi 6 and WiFi 5 models for cost-effective coverage or extending an existing UniFi deployment.

Simple to Install, Easy to Manage

Every flagship access point is powered over Ethernet (PoE), so a single cable carries both power and data. The included mounting hardware makes ceiling or wall installation quick. Access points are then adopted and managed in the UniFi Network application, which runs on UniFi consoles such as Cloud Gateways or on the free, self-hosted UniFi Network Server. Configure, monitor and update your entire WiFi network from your browser or phone, with no license fees or subscriptions.

The WiFi 7 models include the features professional networks rely on:

  • 802.11r/k/v fast roaming
  • band steering
  • wireless meshing
  • Private Pre-Shared Keys (PPSK)
  • RADIUS-assigned VLANs
  • branded guest portals with voucher or payment authentication

All WiFi 7 models are NDAA compliant, too.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between the U7 Pro and U7 Pro Max?
Both offer tri-band WiFi 7 with 6 GHz and a 2.5 GbE uplink. The U7 Pro Max adds:

  • two extra spatial streams (8 vs. 6)
  • dedicated spectral scanning
  • wider coverage (1,750 vs. 1,500 ft²)
  • capacity for 500+ devices instead of 300+

That makes it the better fit for dense, interference-prone spaces.

Do I need a 10 GbE network for the U7 Pro XG or U7 Pro XGS?
No. Both also support 5, 2.5 and 1 GbE connections, so they work with your current switching and are ready when you upgrade. Note that the XGS is powered by PoE++, while the XG runs on PoE+.

Will my current devices work with WiFi 7 access points?
Yes. UniFi WiFi 7 access points also serve WiFi 6/6E, WiFi 5 and older devices. WiFi 7 devices can take advantage of features like MLO and 320 MHz channels on 6 GHz. WiFi 6E devices can also use the 6 GHz band on tri-band models.

Compare models side by side to find the right fit for your space, and build a faster, more reliable WiFi network that grows with you.
