UniFi Glass Break Sensor

Windows are the softest point in most buildings. The Ubiquiti USL-GlassBreak UniFi Glass Break Sensor listens for the acoustic signature of breaking glass and pairs it with a passive infrared motion sensor, so a single device covers both the moment of entry and the movement that follows.

It runs entirely on batteries — no cabling, no power outlet, no drilling through walls for a run of low-voltage. Two CR123A cells deliver up to three years of service, and Ubiquiti's proprietary SuperLink radio reaches back to the gateway from up to 2 km away, which means the sensor sits where the glass is rather than where the wiring happens to end.

Everything reports into UniFi Protect alongside your cameras, door access and other UniFi sensors, so a glass break event can trigger recording, sirens or notifications without a third-party alarm panel in the middle.

Key Features

Detects the sound of breaking glass, not just impact

An onboard microphone listens for the frequency signature glass makes when it shatters. The sensor is rated for plate, tempered, obscured, laminated, coated and wired glass, across panes from 280 × 356 mm (11 × 14") up to 1067 × 1626 mm (42 × 64") and thicknesses of 2.4 mm, 3.2 mm, 4.8 mm and 6.4 mm (3/32", 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4").

Built-in PIR motion sensing

A passive infrared sensor is integrated into the same housing, letting one device cover both the break and any movement in the room afterwards. Fewer devices on the wall, fewer batteries to track, one less thing to commission.

Up to 2 km of SuperLink wireless range

SuperLink is Ubiquiti's proprietary long-range protocol, running at 915.6–927.6 MHz in the US and 865.1–869.5 MHz in the EU with 14 dBm maximum transmit power and a 1 dBi antenna. Line-of-sight range reaches 2 km (1.2 mi), so warehouses, outbuildings and detached sites stay connected to a single gateway.

Three-year battery life

Two CR123A lithium cells power the sensor for up to three years, drawing a maximum of 0.2 W. Battery status is visible in UniFi Protect, so replacement is planned rather than discovered.

Wall or corner mounting, adhesive or screws

The sensor ships with both a wall mount and a corner mount, and can be fixed with adhesive or screws depending on the surface. At 134.5 × 22.5 × 24.8 mm and 70 g including mount and batteries, it stays visually discreet.

Tamper protection and clear status indication

A tamper switch reports interference with the housing, while status (red/blue/white) and signal (blue/red) LEDs give immediate feedback during installation and troubleshooting. A function button and factory reset are also on-device.

Managed entirely in UniFi Protect

Adopt the sensor in the UniFi Protect web application or the iOS and Android apps. Glass break and motion events sit in the same timeline as camera footage, and can be tied to sirens, automations and notifications.

NDAA compliant

The USL-GlassBreak is NDAA compliant and carries FCC, IC and CE certification, making it suitable for government, education and federally funded projects with procurement restrictions.

Requirements & Compatibility

• UniFi SuperLink Gateway — required. The USL-GlassBreak communicates over SuperLink and will not operate standalone.
• UniFi Protect — for adoption, configuration and event history, via web app or the iOS/Android mobile apps.
• Indoor installation. The rated operating range of 0–40 °C and 10–90% non-condensing humidity means this is an interior device.
• Regional models. SuperLink frequency differs by region (US 915.6–927.6 MHz, EU 865.1–869.5 MHz). Order the variant matching your country of installation.
