A single-latch push bar for emergency exit doors. Push to open — no power, no code, no delay. The UACC-PanicBar carries UL 305 and ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 certification, mounts non-handed to left or right doors, and sends a dry-contact signal to UniFi Access so every exit is logged, not alarmed.

The Ubiquiti UACC-PanicBar is a single-latched emergency exit device that opens a door the instant someone pushes the bar. There's no keypad to find, no card to present and no power required for egress — the latch retracts mechanically, so the door opens even in a total blackout.

What separates it from generic exit hardware is the second job it does. Two dry-relay lines run from the bar into your UniFi Access hub, so when someone pushes to exit, the system sees a legitimate egress event rather than a forced-open door. Your logs stay clean, nuisance alarms drop away, and the exit shows up alongside every other door event in the UniFi Access dashboard.

Built from aluminium and stainless steel and rated to ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1 — the highest durability grade for exit devices — it's specified for the doors that get used hardest: fire stairs, back-of-house corridors, warehouse egress routes, school and clinic exits, and any door where free escape is a legal requirement rather than a nice-to-have.

Key Benefits

Egress that never depends on power

The latch is mechanical. Push the bar and the door opens — during a fire, a power cut, a network outage or a controller failure. Your access control governs entry; nothing governs exit but the person's own hand.

Clean audit trails instead of false alarms

Wired to a UniFi Access hub via its dry-contact output (30V DC, 1A — push shorts the circuit, release opens it), the bar tells the system that a door opening was a deliberate exit. That turns what would be a door-forced-open alert into a recorded egress event.

One SKU fits left- and right-hand doors

The UACC-PanicBar is non-handed and fully reversible across all functions and trims. No handing decision at order time, no wrong-hand returns, and installers can carry one part for any door on site.

Certified for the doors that get inspected

  • UL 305 — Panic Hardware.
  • UL 10C — Positive Pressure Fire Tests of Door Assemblies.
  • CAN/ULC-S132 — Emergency Exit and Fire Exit Hardware.
  • ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1 — Exit Devices, highest durability grade.
  • Meets California Building Code Sec. 11B-309.4 operable-parts accessibility requirements.

Accessible by design

Because it meets 11B-309.4, the bar operates with one hand, needs no tight grasping, pinching or wrist-twisting, and opens under low force — usable by children, by people carrying loads, and by anyone with limited hand strength.

Built to keep working

Aluminium and stainless steel construction across a 838 mm bar, sized for standard 2'4" to 3' commercial doors in metal or timber.

Works With UniFi Access

The UACC-PanicBar is the egress half of a complete door. Pair it with:

  • UniFi Access Hub or Access Ultra — the controller that reads the bar's exit signal.
  • UA G3 / UA Pro Reader — credentialed entry on the secure side.
  • UA Lock Magnetic or UACC-Lock-Strike-Secure — the locking mechanism it releases.
  • UACC-DoorCloser — controlled closing so the door re-secures every time.
  • UACC-Cable-DoorLockRelay — clean termination between bar, lock and hub.

Will It Fit? Pre-Purchase Checklist

Before ordering, confirm your door meets all five:

  • Door width between 2'4" and 3' (711–914 mm)
  • Door thickness of 1-3/4" (44 mm) or 2" (51 mm)
  • Door material is metal or timber
  • Stile width of at least 4-1/4" (108 mm)
  • Door stop is 3/4" (19 mm) for the supplied strike
