Customer Satisfaction

Check out some recent reviews and customer experiences shared on Trustpilot

The UniFi 5G Max Outdoor puts full-performance 5G — up to 3.4 Gbps downlink — where indoor modems can't reach. Built for rooftops, remote sites and vehicle installs, it pairs six embedded cellular antennas (two of them high-gain directional) with a sealed aluminium-alloy and UV-stabilised polycarbonate enclosure rated from -40 to 65 °C. Dual SIM (Nano SIM plus Nano SIM or eSIM) delivers seamless carrier failover, and a single PoE cable to any UniFi PoE port handles power, data and adoption as a WAN interface on your UniFi console or Cloud Gateway.

Key benefits

Full-performance 5G, taken outdoors

The Outdoor model carries the same headline throughput as the indoor UniFi 5G Max: 3.4 Gbps down / 560 Mbps up on 5G NSA, 1.8 Gbps / 650 Mbps on 5G SA, and 1.6 Gbps / 210 Mbps on 4G LTE. A 2.5 GbE RJ45 port feeds multi-gigabit throughput back to your gateway.

Built for weather, wind and temperature extremes

An aluminium-alloy and UV-stabilised polycarbonate enclosure is IPX6-rated as standard and IP67-rated with the cable-gland door kit. It operates from -40 to 65 °C in 5–95% non-condensing humidity, and is rated for 91 N of wind loading at 200 km/h (125 mph) — so a rooftop or pole install stays online when conditions turn.

High-gain directional antennas for extended reach

Six embedded cellular antennas include two high-gain downlink antennas (peak 9 dBi, 85° × 85° beam), backed by HPUE power class 2 transmit at up to 26 dBm on 5G NR and 25 dBm on LTE. Mount it outside, aim it toward the serving tower, and pull in a usable signal in locations where an indoor unit struggles.

Dual SIM with eSIM for seamless failover

One Nano SIM slot plus a second slot for Nano SIM or eSIM lets you run two carriers and fail over automatically if one drops. The hardware is fully unlocked, so you choose the carrier and can switch without changing devices. Remote SIM support is coming in a future update.

One PoE cable: power, data and instant UniFi adoption

A single 2.5 GbE RJ45 port with PoE input (14.5 W maximum) is the only connection you need. Plug it into any UniFi PoE port — on the gateway or on a switch anywhere on the network — and it appears as a ready-to-use WAN interface. No dedicated cable run back to the gateway; put the modem where the signal is best.

Native UniFi WAN control

Run it as your primary, load-balanced or failover WAN. Use UniFi policy-based routing to send specific clients or VLANs over 5G, set SLAs to control when the cellular link is used, and cap per-SIM data usage to avoid overage charges.

Pole and wall mounts included

Fits poles from 25–63.5 mm (1–2.5") outer diameter, or mounts directly to a wall. Mount adds just 130 g and 55 mm of depth.

Certified and compliant

Carrier-certified with AT&T and T-Mobile (data-only plan required; T-Mobile Home Internet SIMs aren't supported). Verizon support is coming soon. FCC, IC, CE, PTCRB and GCF certified, and NDAA compliant for government and public-sector deployments.

Built for the places indoor 5G can't reach

  • Rooftop primary internet — a full-speed 5G WAN for sites with no fibre or cable service, mounted high and clear of obstructions.
  • Remote and off-site locations — connect a satellite office, site cabin or unattended facility, then manage it from your UniFi console like any other WAN.
  • Vehicle and mobile deployments — a rugged, PoE-powered link for vehicle-based setups where reliability is critical.
  • Poor indoor cellular coverage — move the radio outside the building envelope instead of fighting attenuation from walls and roofing.
  • Business-continuity backup — a second carrier on the second SIM plus UniFi failover policies keep the site up through a fixed-line or carrier outage.
