The Ubiquiti UACC-Lock-Strike-Secure-15mm is a fail-secure electric strike lock that connects directly to a UniFi Access Hub, turning a standard single door into a fully managed access point. It recess-mounts into the door frame rather than sitting on the door face, so the hardware stays hidden and the door keeps its original appearance.

Fail-secure means the latch stays locked if power is interrupted, backed by 1,200 kg (2,645 lb) of holding force. A dry-contact door position sensor is built into the lock itself, so UniFi Access reports the door's real state rather than just logging that an unlock was sent. Both a short and a long front plate are specified for the unit, and the stainless steel plates and latches sit on a zinc alloy lock body.

Why choose the UniFi Fail-Secure Strike Lock?

Locked by default, even without power

This is a fail-secure lock: remove power and the latch remains engaged. That behaviour suits doors where the priority is keeping the space secured through a power interruption — server rooms, stockrooms, plant rooms, records storage and IT closets. It is the opposite of a fail-safe lock, which releases when power is lost. If you need release-on-power-loss behaviour instead, Ubiquiti lists a fail-safe option within the same electric lock range.

1,200 kg of holding force

The lock is rated to 1,200 kg (2,645 lb) holding force, giving substantial resistance to being forced on a single wooden or metal door.

Door position sensing built in

A dry-contact door status output is integrated into the lock, rated to a maximum of 30V DC at 0.1A. The contact reads open across DPS/+ and DPS/− when the door is open, and shorts when the door is closed. Because the sensor lives inside the lock, you avoid running and concealing a separate door position switch on every opening — one less component to specify, mount and fault-find.

Recess-mounted, out of sight

The lock mounts into a door frame recess. The body measures 80 x 40 x 35 mm (3.2 x 1.6 x 1.4") and weighs 185 g (6.5 oz), so it disappears into the frame and leaves the door leaf untouched — a real advantage on doors where surface-mounted hardware would look wrong or get knocked.

Two front plate sizes specified

The specification lists both a short front plate at 124 x 32 x 3 mm (4.9 x 1.3 x 0.1") and a long front plate at 202 x 36 x 3 mm (7.9 x 1.4 x 0.1"), giving you the coverage to suit different frame preparations and to tidy up existing cut-outs on a retrofit.

Simple two-wire power, modest draw

Power is 12V DC ±10% at 400mA ±10%, using a two-wire connection: Lock 12V/NO on red and Lock 12V/COM on black. The low current draw makes it straightforward to account for in your UniFi Access power budget.

Built for real-world environments

Stainless steel front plates and latches over a zinc alloy body, rated for operation from -10 to 60°C (14 to 140°F) and 5 to 90% non-condensing humidity, with storage tolerance from -20 to 70°C (-4 to 158°F). The lock is NDAA compliant and carries FCC, IC and CE certification.

Installation notes

This lock is fail-secure, which means it remains locked when power is removed. Before specifying it, confirm the door's role in your building's escape routes and check the requirements of your local fire, building and accessibility authorities — fail-secure hardware on a door used for egress is normally paired with mechanical release hardware so the door can always be opened from the inside without power.
