A 6.5-inch passive in-ceiling speaker from Ubiquiti that fits flush, stays out of sight and fills the room with wide, even sound. Its 6.5" woofer and pivoting 1" tweeter handle up to 130 W with 90° coverage, and the 8-ohm design is enhanced for UniFi PowerAmp — connect up to six per amplifier for clean, scalable multi-zone audio. NDAA compliant; CE and UKCA certified.
Immersive sound, invisible hardware
Ceiling speakers have one job that most get only half right: sound great without being seen. The UniFi In-Ceiling Speaker does both. A polycarbonate enclosure and slim metal grille sit flush against the ceiling, while a 6.5" woofer and 1" tweeter project audio across a wide area, so listeners hear the same balanced sound whether they're directly beneath the speaker or across the room.
The tweeter pivots ±15°, letting you angle the high frequencies toward seating or work areas rather than straight down. Coverage is a 90° axisymmetric pattern — identical in every direction — which makes spacing predictable when you're laying out several speakers across an open-plan space. Frequency response runs from 47 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), with 87 dB sensitivity (1 W @ 1 m) and a maximum output of 107 dB SPL: enough headroom for background music in a busy venue, and enough detail for a boardroom presentation.
It's also purpose-built for the UniFi Premium Audio ecosystem. Rated for 130 W maximum power handling at 8 ohms nominal impedance, it lines up exactly with UniFi PowerAmp's 130 W-per-channel output at 8 ohms. And because Ubiquiti has enhanced the speaker for use with PowerAmp, a single amplifier can drive up to six of them — three per channel — rather than the four-speaker limit that applies to other passive speakers.
Key features
Why choose the UniFi In-Ceiling Speaker
- Wide, even coverage. A 90° axisymmetric dispersion pattern delivers consistent sound quality across a wide area — fewer hot spots, fewer dead zones.
- Two-way driver design. A 6.5" woofer reaches down to 47 Hz for full, natural low end; a 1" tweeter with ±15° pivot lets you aim the highs where people actually listen.
- Matched to UniFi PowerAmp. 130 W maximum power handling at 8 ohms mirrors PowerAmp's 130 W per channel at 8 ohms. Ubiquiti lists the speaker as enhanced for use with PowerAmp.
- Six speakers per amplifier. Run up to three pairs from a single PowerAmp (three in parallel per channel) — more coverage per amp, fewer devices in the rack.
- Designed to disappear. Flush in-ceiling mounting, a polycarbonate enclosure and a low-profile metal grille keep attention on the room, not the hardware.
- Installer-friendly. ⌀205 mm (8.1") cut-out, 100 mm (4") mounting depth, 1.9 kg, and terminals that accept 8–16 AWG speaker wire.
- Compliance covered. NDAA compliant; CE and UKCA certified.
- Part of a complete system. Paired with PowerAmp and the UniFi Play app you get Apple AirPlay, Spotify Connect, an HDMI eARC input and grouping of up to 32 PowerAmps for whole-site, multi-zone control.
Built for UniFi PowerAmp
The UniFi In-Ceiling Speaker is a passive speaker: it connects over standard speaker wire and is driven by an external amplifier. Ubiquiti specifies it as enhanced for use with UniFi PowerAmp, and the two are designed to work as a pair.
- Power matched. PowerAmp delivers 130 W per channel at 8 ohms; the speaker handles 130 W at 8 ohms nominal.
- Six per amplifier. A single PowerAmp can drive up to six UniFi In-Ceiling (or In-Wall) Speakers — three wired in parallel to the left channel and three to the right. With other passive speakers, Ubiquiti's limit is four per PowerAmp.
- Streaming and control. PowerAmp adds Apple AirPlay, Spotify Connect and Soundtrack Your Brand streaming, an HDMI eARC input for TV audio, two RCA analogue inputs and an RCA subwoofer output, all managed through the UniFi Play app for iOS and Android. Up to 32 PowerAmps can be grouped for multi-zone audio, and PowerAmp integrates with UniFi Pro A/V switching.
Ubiquiti's wiring guidance for multi-speaker PowerAmp setups
- Wire speakers in parallel only — never in series.
- Use 16 AWG or thicker oxygen-free copper speaker wire (the speaker's terminals accept 8–16 AWG).
- Keep cable lengths consistent to avoid channel imbalance.
- Don't mix third-party speakers or different speaker models within the same setup.
Where it fits
Ideal for
Because it spreads sound evenly and stays out of sight, the UniFi In-Ceiling Speaker suits any space where audio should be heard, not seen:
- Open-plan offices and co-working floors — background music without visual clutter.
- Retail stores and showrooms — consistent sound from the entrance to the back wall.
- Cafés, bars, restaurants and hotel lobbies — hospitality ambience with 107 dB of headroom for when the room fills up.
- Meeting rooms and boardrooms — clear presentation and display audio via PowerAmp's HDMI eARC input.
- Homes and multi-dwelling projects — whole-home audio zones managed from a single app.
