A fully assembled 42U four-post cabinet built for network closets and small data centre rooms. Perforated front and rear doors, two pre-installed cooling fans and an 800 kg static load rating handle a full stack of switches, gateways, UPS units and servers — and lockable casters mean you can roll it into place, level it, and start racking the same afternoon.
The UACC-Rack-42U-800-P arrives from the factory fully assembled. There are no side panels to bolt on, no doors to hang and no posts to square up — the cabinet comes off the pallet on lockable casters, rolls to its final position, and drops onto four leveling stands. For integrators working to a fixed install window, that removes the better part of a day from the schedule.
Inside, you get the full 42U of usable height across a four-post square-hole frame built to the EIA/ECA-310-E standard, so any standard rackmount hardware, cage nut, shelf or slide rail will fit as expected. Mounting depth adjusts from a default of 607.2 mm out to 682.2 mm in 15 mm increments, giving you room for deep chassis servers and full-depth UPS units alongside shallower UniFi switches and gateways.
Airflow designed in, not bolted on
Both the front and rear doors are perforated, so cool air is drawn straight through the equipment stack rather than around it. Two 120 × 120 × 38 mm AC fan units come pre-installed to keep air moving in rooms without dedicated cooling — useful in the converted-storeroom comms rooms that most small and mid-size sites actually run on.
At 800 mm deep and 600 mm wide, there's genuine working clearance behind the posts for patch cables, PDUs and cable management, instead of the pinch you get in a 600 mm-deep cabinet once a switch stack is fully populated. Two 335 × 52.5 mm cable entry openings in the top and two in the base let you bring feeds in from either a tray or a floor void.
Built to carry a serious load
The frame is SPCC steel throughout — 2 mm posts, a 1 mm main body and 1.2 mm doors and side panels — finished in a white powder coat. Static capacity is 800 kg (1,764 lb), dropping to 320 kg (705 lb) while the cabinet is being rolled, so a fully loaded rack stays comfortably within spec.
Four leveling stands take the weight once it's positioned, and a floor anchor point lets you fix the cabinet down permanently in seismic zones or high-traffic areas. Grounding lugs are fitted as standard. If you need to expand later, the cabinet interconnect hardware lets you bay two or more units together into a single aligned row.
Locked down on every side
Security is often the weak point in a cabinet spec. Here, the front door, rear door and all four removable side panels lock — one front lock, one rear lock and eight side panel locks, with three keys in the box. Because the side panels are both removable and lockable, you get full-access servicing during a build and a sealed enclosure once the site is live.
Both doors default to a left-hand outswing and are fully reversible, so the swing can be flipped on site to suit the room rather than the other way around.
Compliance and procurement
The cabinet is NDAA compliant and carries CE and RoHS marking, alongside EIA/ECA-310-E conformance — the combination most public sector, education and federal-adjacent tenders ask for.
Choosing between the variants
This is the 800 mm-deep, perforated-door model. Ubiquiti also offers a glass front door version (UACC-Rack-42U-800-G) if the cabinet is going somewhere visible and a 1,000 mm-deep option for deeper server chassis and rear-mounted cable management. Choose perforated doors wherever passive or fan-assisted airflow matters more than appearance — which, in a comms room, is nearly always.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much equipment can a 42U rack cabinet hold?
This cabinet supports 800 kg (1,764 lb) of static load once positioned and leveled, and 320 kg (705 lb) while being rolled on its casters. That's ample headroom for 42U of switches, gateways, servers, PDUs and a rack-mounted UPS.
Does the UACC-Rack-42U-800-P come assembled?
Yes. It ships fully assembled with doors, side panels, casters and fans already fitted. Because of its size and weight, delivery is door-to-door and won't be brought inside the building, so plan for handling on arrival.
What are the exact dimensions of the 42U Rack Cabinet?
600 mm wide × 800 mm deep × 2,050 mm tall with the casters fitted (23.6 × 31.5 × 80.7"). Remove the casters and height drops to 1,966 mm (77.4"). Check doorway height and lift clearances before delivery.
Can the UACC-Rack-42U-800-P doors be reversed?
Both the perforated front and rear doors ship as left-hand outswing and are fully reversible on site.
Is this cabinet compatible with non-Ubiquiti equipment?
Yes. It's a standard 19" four-post square-hole cabinet built to EIA/ECA-310-E, so any standard rackmount hardware fits, whichever vendor it came from.
What's the difference between the perforated and glass door versions?
The perforated door (UACC-Rack-42U-800-P) maximises front-to-back airflow and is the right choice for equipment rooms. The glass door version (UACC-Rack-42U-800-G) suits visible installations where appearance matters more than passive cooling.
Is the 42U Rack Cabinet NDAA compliant?
Yes — it's NDAA compliant and also carries CE and RoHS marking.
Can two cabinets be joined together?
Yes. Cabinet interconnect hardware is included, so multiple units can be bayed into an aligned row.
