The Ubiquiti UACC-Lock-Strike-Safe-15mm is a fail-safe electric strike lock built for UniFi Access. It holds up to 1,200 kg while powered and releases automatically the moment power is lost, so exits stay usable in an emergency. It runs on 12V DC straight from a UniFi Access Hub and includes a built-in door status contact.
Fail-safe door control, built for UniFi Access
The UniFi Fail-Safe Strike Lock (Standard, 15 mm) is Ubiquiti's own electric strike for single wooden or metal doors managed by UniFi Access. As a fail-safe lock it stays locked while energised and unlocks as soon as power is cut. Ubiquiti describes this behaviour as ideal for emergency exits and building entry and exit doors, where people must always be able to get out.
Because it is designed for the UniFi Access Hub, wiring is simple. The lock's red and black leads connect to the Hub's powered lock relay (12V/NC and 12V/COM). Every UniFi Access Control Hub provides a 12V, 1 A lock output, and at 12V DC and 400 mA this strike runs directly from it, so no separate lock power supply is required. When a credential is accepted the Hub's relay opens, current stops and the strike releases.
The lock body is zinc alloy, with a stainless steel front plate and latches, and it delivers 1,200 kg (2,645 lb) of holding force. Ubiquiti specifies both a short (124 × 32 mm) and a long (202 × 36 mm) front plate to suit different frame preparations, and the unit recess-mounts into the door frame.
A built-in dry-contact door status (DPS) output reports whether the door is open or closed, giving you door position monitoring in UniFi Access without fitting a separate sensor. The lock is NDAA compliant, carries FCC, IC and CE certifications, and is rated for -10 to 60 °C operation.

Fail-safe vs fail-secure: which strike lock do you need?
Electric locks are classed by what they do when power fails. A fail-safe lock, like this one, unlocks when power is lost. Ubiquiti positions it for emergency exits and building entry/exit doors where safe egress comes first. A fail-secure lock stays locked without power and is intended for restricted areas such as data storage rooms.
Need the door to stay locked during an outage? Choose the Fail-Secure Strike Lock (UACC-Lock-Strike-Secure-15mm), which wires to the Hub's NO/COM terminals instead.
Installation and wiring notes
- Wiring: red lead to the Hub's LOCK 12V/NC terminal, black lead to 12V/COM. Fail-safe locks always use NC/COM.
- Power: the Hub's POWERED relay already outputs 12V DC. Ubiquiti warns not to connect an additional external power source to it, as this can damage the Hub.
- Cable: Ubiquiti recommends shielded 22 or 18 AWG cable between Hub and lock (see the UniFi Door Lock Relay Cable, UACC-Cable-DoorLockRelay).
- Alignment: the UniFi strike locks do not support operation under preload. Align the door and lock precisely so no pressure sits on the latch and keeper, otherwise the lock may fail to release.
