The Ubiquiti UACC-Lock-Strike-Secure-8mm is a fail-secure electric strike lock built for door frames with an 8 mm lock slot depth. It recesses into the frame rather than mounting on the door face, so the hardware stays hidden and the opening keeps its original look. With 227 kg (500 lb) of holding force, a zinc alloy lock body and stainless steel front plate and latches, it is designed for single wooden or metal doors in commercial and residential access control deployments.
In the Ubiquiti Store's electric lock configurator, this SKU is the Strike → Fail-Secure → Narrow option, sitting alongside the 15 mm standard-depth model and the fail-safe and bolt variants in the same range.
Fail-secure operation for doors that must stay locked
This is a fail-secure lock: it is held in the locked state and releases on command from your access controller. Fail-secure hardware suits perimeter doors, server rooms, storerooms and any opening where the door needs to remain secured rather than release.
Because fail-secure and fail-safe hardware behave differently during a power interruption, confirm which type your opening requires under your local building and fire codes before ordering, and check any egress requirements that apply to the door.
A narrow profile that fits an 8 mm lock slot
The 8 mm designation refers to the lock slot depth the strike supports. The compact lock body measures 112 x 21 x 28 mm (4.4 x 0.8 x 1.1") and weighs 197 g (6.9 oz), making it suitable for narrow-stile frames and retrofits where a standard-depth strike will not fit. Ubiquiti's specification lists two front plate sizes — a 152 mm short plate and a 250 mm long plate — so the strike can be matched to the frame cut-out in front of you.
227 kg (500 lb) of holding force
The strike is rated to 227 kg (500 lb) of holding force. A zinc alloy lock body carries the load while stainless steel front plates and latches handle the wear surfaces and the exposed face of the installation.
Built-in door position sensing
A dry-contact door status output is integrated into the lock, so you can report real door state — open or closed — back to your controller without fitting a separate door position switch. The contact is rated to a maximum of 30V DC at 0.1A. The DPS pair reads open when the door is open and shorted when the door is closed.
Straightforward 12V DC wiring
The lock runs on 12V DC ±10% and draws 200 mA ±10%. Four leads are provided and colour coded for fast, unambiguous termination:
- Red — Lock 12V/NO
- Black — Lock 12V/COM
- White — DPS/−
- Orange — DPS/+
Confirm the lock output voltage and current capacity of your specific door controller or hub before wiring.
NDAA compliant and certified
The UACC-Lock-Strike-Secure-8mm is NDAA compliant and carries FCC, IC and CE certifications — relevant for government, education, healthcare and federally funded projects with procurement restrictions.
Rated for real operating conditions
Operating temperature runs from −10 to 60 °C (14 to 140 °F), with storage from −20 to 70 °C (−4 to 158 °F) and operating humidity from 5 to 90% non-condensing.
